Kia Cerato Lx & Gt: An 'unbiased' introduction.

(post updated November 2, 2021)

Many years ago, long before ‘ROTFL – Roll on the Floor Laughing’ was a popular social media expression, people in Trinidad and Tobago were ‘Rolling on the Floor Laughing' because a Kia was driving by. The Korean brand wasn’t a charmer at first. Known for substandard workmanship and materials, Kia was one of those new cars you bought just to say you bought a new car. Fast forward 23 years and we can see the truth in the phrase - 'Who laughs last, laughs the best!'. For the past three years, the Cerato has been the best selling mid-sized sedan in Trinidad and Tobago.

THE SOUTHERN SALES FAMILY

As part of the Southern Sales family for over 23 years, Kia Motors continues to wow its followers with award-winning vehicles that don’t compromise style and affordability for performance. And what better example than the all new Kia Cerato. On January 17, 2019 Southern Sales, Kia Motors Trinidad and Tobago, launched its 2019 edition of the Cerato model.

OBVIOUS ATTRACTIVE APPEARANCE

Apart from its obvious attractive look, which you can blame German Chief Design Officer Peter Schreyer (formally from Audi) for, the Cerato has undergone a complete transformation. And we're not just referring to its good looks.

We could go on and on about its value-for-money-features like Projector Headlights with Escort Function, 8" Touch Screen Infotainment Display, Rear View Camera with Dynamic Guidelines, Drive Mode Select, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Front and Rear Parking Sensors, Wireless Charging, 17" Alloy Wheels and 6 Speed Tiptronic Transmission but then we would sound like we're showing off a bit.

TRY THIS ON FOR SIZE

All boasting aside then. Let's say you were not interested in the Cerato's Euro-inspired, upmarket attractive appearance and steal of a deal features but instead wanted some cold hard facts.

How about this?

  1. Best selling compact sedan (non-hybrid), in Trinidad and Tobago, for 2016, 2017 & 2018!

  2. Most affordable car in its class.

  3. IIHS Top Safety Pick Award

  4. It's a KIA - 'Highest Ranked Mass Market Brand in Initial Quality, 4 Years in a Row'

When you've held the title of best selling mid-sized sedan in Trinidad and Tobago, for the past 3 years, there's a lot expected of you. And this year's new and improved Kia Cerato model does not disappoint!
